It's that time of year again, even though the teams are not set in stone. The site has had a big overhaul, though the basic premise has not changed. If your team was in the league last year, you should automatically re-enter the league again when you sign in and form up your new team (I suggest Doyle and Fletcher up front, with Big George Elokobi at left-back, of course....).

You have all the time in the world (until August 13th, at any rate) to tinker with your starting elevens....

New players are welcome - ping on this thread or PM me and thou shalt receive the sacred league code by return.

I don't know what a ping is, but I seek the sacred code. Please dispatch a carrier pigeon to my location with said code.

Need a lethal strike partnership this year; they all just fired blanks last year!

Same here. Which is why I'll be going for three up front this year...;)

I'm in too. But who's who? I suppose I'll find out as the season progresses.

Good point. It would be a lot easier (especially for Chopper to get rid of the inevitable hangers-on and non-Chronners that we seem to get) if we use our Chrons User Names when we fill out the registration form. But this is Chop's baby, and he's the one with the final say...:p

the hangers-on came from the fact that, first time around, i was daft enough to post the code up on Chrons....
the other problem is that i think most of us are in more than one league, so we're using our real names so that we're visible to other people we know. the easiest way to get around this, i guess, is to post on this thread with your team name once you've registered.

Anyway, here's last year's table again, complete with user names: there's only one unidentified team there i think and, alchemist aside, nobody i don't recognise has registered yet this year.

    1. Maradonna's Fat Club/Gary Thorpe/Judderman
    2. FC Sputnik/David Knechtges/Weasel Soup
    3. City Blue Boys/Stuart Widdows/mosaix
    4. Selvsikkerhet/Ian Bixby
    5. Lemme Go/So oth/soothsayer
    6. Unforgiven XI/Robert Adams/Tillane
    7. Bahrain/Mohd Habib
    8. Grantham Rovers/Aidan Topliss/Fake Vencar
    9. Horace/Lenny 1882/Lenny
    10. Cul's Army/Culhwch/Culhwch
    11. Isengard Athletic/Steven Poore/Chopper
    12. United of Mancunia/John Cocks/Mr Kite
    13. R'leyh City/Pyan/Pyan

I have now joined the league, with the amusing (to me and small group of my work colleagues) team name of Beppo's bag of nails.
Beppo is a monkey from the planet Krypton and was in several superman comics, his story is rather amusing.
Bag of nails is a typical phrase use to describe the software we support.

My team has the uninspiring name of Cantona's Heroes. However, it's to give my band of losers something to live up to. As a matter of interest, it appears we can't see the make-up of others' teams. True?

And should this be publicised around the site e.g. putting one post in GRRM, one in aspiring writers etc? Just to get the numbers up, y'see.

We'll be able to take a peek at the other teams after Gameweek 1, once the unlimited transfer period is over

Yep, Rangerton by day, Mr Brooks by night... but I'd suggest a name change for the team, as the admins over there do take a dim view of offensive language.

    Cheers aye

Mr Nash is in. So is Mr Ian Bixby... whose Chrons alias I don't know - could the real Mr Bixby please stand up? :)

And a reminder - one week to go!
