    Hi All (again)

I'm not really new, but have been away for so long I may as well be! (Although its nice to still see some familiar faces around here).

I figured this was the best place to start my re-acquaintance with the chronicles and all those who lurk here.

Fingers crossed I'll be able to hang around here a lot more now that I'm in between study and fieldwork and so actually connected to the net again! There is definitely something about this place that draws you back though...

    Anyway, hi to all

For some reason, some members shouldn't have their usernames abbreviated. BookStop is one-Blue Mythril is another.

I'm sure you can understand why. :p

BS I get, but BM is lost on me. Perhaps I don't travel in the right circles...

BM. It's the abbreviation for "Bowel Movement" if you don't get it.

*Wince* I shouldn't have had to spell that out....

oh no! I'd been happily oblivious as BM for years now....

Oh well, malesh, I'm happy to keep being BM :) I'm sure any abbreviation can be converted into something crass if people try hard enough...

    Perhaps so.

And please, "Karn" rather than the use of the surname.

Hey, Blue Mithril, seriously nice to see you back again. :)

Hows everything going for you in Oz? Upwards and onwards I hope? :)

Hello, Blue. I meant to ask if you were still into Archaeology, glad to see that you are! Our other resident archaeologist, Esioul, sometimes stumbles in here from time to time when she can tear herself away from doing clever things with GPRS maps. Is that the sort of thing you do as well?

I tend to lean into the spatial analysis side of things - using GIS databases to interpret artefact patternings to then interpret how people used spaces. It's borderline voyeuristic really, the way we avidly go through people's refuse...

    Still loving it though!

Edit: Glad to hear Esioul is still about! I think I last chatted to her on MSN five years ago now. Man, feeling old now.

Double edit: Thanks for the hug! definitely needed it after foolishly watching the recent Tess of the D'Urbivilles last night. Don't know why I did that...

Oops that's right, it's GIS, not GPRS. It seems to be Esioul's favourite way to spend the time. She's especially keen on combing through miles and miles of extreme close ups of the Arabian Desert. You should try looking her up on Facebook, but of course she is only sporadically online unlike people who have less difficult things to do with their lives.

Hi BM, and welcome back - obviously the treatment didn't work, or you'd be cured of your addiction to the Chrons... It gets you, even after all this time?? Phew, that's some intersynaptic brain releaser... I'd say 'better luck next time', but if you think you'll be allowed out again, just remember 'The Prisoner' and how many escape attempts he made...
