needs a cast list. And a plot, but first things first.

E.g. Boneman, the tortured and violent hero. Christian Bale or Alan Rickman?

Hmmm, Christian Bale I think. He can do thin.

    Grownup - anyone publicity shy.

Oh and Freda wants to play herself.

Where are you going to find an actor who's publicity shy?

Does that mean I'm not going to be in the movie?

Whoa. I can see this getting very sticky very quickly if we're choosing actors for fellow Chronites!

Has Freda got an equity card, Ace? If not, there might be trouble ahead with the unions.

I've lost interest anyway, now I'm not going to be in the movie.

I was holding out for Christina Ricci, Michelle Yeoh, or at a pinch that chap who used to be McGyver. :(

Why don't you be radical, and have all three playing you in different parts of the film?

Anyway, I'm appropriating Kristin Scott Thomas. Beautifully spoken, intelligent, elegant... yep, that's me *cough, cough*

You missed out a blindingly obvious one, TJ: not afraid of the scales.

(Although you do seem to keep them at arm's length.... ;):))

And who is to play the cute, cuddly one, Ursa? Ricky Gervais?

Always thought Ursa had a distinctly Stephen Fry wry half-smile.

Ricky can play Thread Bear, who's cute - Ricky will have to learn to act for this - and cuddly (and psychotic in a dangerous sort of way).

    <--- Thread Bear

I'm more of a giant (6m) cyborg polar-bear-look-alike, so will require CGI (and a voice-over).

Freda'll have to be the same, she just wants to stand in when interacting with other characters.

Well, we can't have Tangle floating in thin air.

How about a young BB for grownup ? The reclusive bit'd fit then.

I'm glad we've got that sorted. I should hate him to be psychotic in a benevolent sort of way. (Presumably that would consist of accosting strangers in the street and threatening to hurt them unless they accept his wallet?)

And the voice-over is by Barbara Windsor?

As for the plot of the movie, whatever happened to The Maltese Blanket?

*growly voice-over* This summer's blockbuster motion picture event. The most genuinely terrifying object ever created.

He could be deluded by way of thinking everyone loves him. (A look in the mirror is hardly going to disuade him, is it?) But he's not deluded in that way.

Its owners were fleeced, as I recall.

In the trailers it would have to be, as you imply, a Malteaser....

No, that's not how they do it these days. You need giant flying exploding words:

    THIS

    SUMMER

    BLANKETS

    WILL

    BE

    MALTESE

And Dame Judi for Teresa, anyone?
