I'm sure the country,or area, from where the member hails used to be shown under each name. What happened to that and are there plans to revive it. Also how about a Shoutbox? ;)

If, as I do, you use the style called "chronicles-network all posters", you will get to see the member location (or the location from which a member claims to post).

(The field where you can change the style is down at the bottom of every page on the left.)

Which in many cases aren't the same thing.

How does one change the style?

And what's a shout box -- and why?

So much to know, so little time ...

Go to the very bottom of a page - on the brown bar, there's a white window with -- Chronicles Network and a down-arrow on it. Click on that and it brings up the Style Changer.

If you want to know a location without changing style, just click on a person's name, above their avatar, then click View Public Profile, then About Me - it's there as well.

I second that Interference. I wondered why the old wide screen view had gone.

    Three cheers for AE35

...who, if he's using his mobile phone to browse here, may not be able to take full advantage of the wider screen.

Wow. It works! But is it just me? The bar isn't brown, it's black. Am I colourally challenged?

As it happens, I read of this solution somewhere here on the Chrons. (This was a while ago so, sadly, I can't further redirect the thanks.)

And that bar is also black on my screen, Judge.

My apologies - it is black. Either I just assumed it was brown because most of the rest are, or my deuteranopia is getting worse...:(

You're not in some way related to John Dalton, are you, Py?

And to stay on thread: What's a shoutbox?

The idea of a shoutbox has been brought up before. You'd need to petition Brian. I'm against the idea, personally. I don't see what it would add to the community. In fact I could see it having a detrimental effect - folks having discussions in the shoutbox, then going on to threads to carry it on (or indeed, carrying the discussion from a thread to the shoutbox), there'd be no continuity for another member to come into the conversation...

    Tain't broke...

    Did somebody mention Pie.

    Shoutbox?

    I agree with Cul.

(now obviously my endorsement matters not a jot. However, I've fresh baked Fertwhurler here, to back it up)

    :)

Just discovered, the decent quote box is also back. Marvelous this is all just win win
