I think this was a short story, for some reason I associate it with Asimov but I have little reason to think he wrote it.
Rebels group and hide on an ice moon. They find that a missile has been launched at their base. Since the ships are not in condition to go they decide to use the ship's engines and the ice from the moon as reaction mass. At first they accelerate out of system fairly easily, but the missile keeps speeding up so they must also accelerate. The high gee forces on their bodies causes them to eventually turn to uploading their persona's to the central computer system. Still the missile continues to accelerate to they fly close to a star and since the missile flies straight line after them they get the missile to burn up in the star.
Like I said above, if anyone could tell me a title I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much!
