All, please let me know if I have posted the wrong question in the wrong place.
I remember watching a movie some time in the early to mid 1970's, which means it could have come out in the 1960's. I'm not sure.
The story centers around a small group of scientists that are meeting in a house when a space ship approaches, wraps some sort of force field around it and picks it up and takes it away.
I don't remember much about it, except that at some point the characters find out that the race that built the ship is long dead and that the ship has taken them captive in order to have them help fight off an enemy race that wants to destroy their planet.
I don't remember details, but the enemy ships attack in a "V" formation.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
