    Newbie to Discworld... my thoughts so far.

    i have to say i like pratchet but then i like to be amused in all ways and i like the fact there are layers of humor and great carectors that grow with the books and hardley ever disapoint you. i dont mind the detached humor as i think of those smiles as free extras.

    i read them all but i agree there are beter examples of her work but i found it a good start point for my daughter when she was about ten it was that bit simpler a story so suited a young reader starting out

    oh goodie we love a new read, and the witches eg granny and nanny turn up in the winter smith and grannys in them all with a bit part you evan get to see a softer side well sort of

    i have read the book loved it evan though i could see were it was going after she arrived at nanny oggs and he definatlys set us up for the next one, but i dont care coz i know i will enjoy it!

    hay ho darker only if you foget to turn the lights on its funny and good to read .there have always been layers to the books amed at different readers they are just more pronounced in some later books

    enders game is ok and somtimes i think we all wont more no matter how mutch we get i like to think if i read a book and i dont wont to stop till the end then its done its job evan if there are beter examples about you get somthing different from every book you read
