Royal courtroom drama less than 900 words

LOL!! Well if I ever develop a following one day, I will write a prequel novel that will explain this if it really is that important. Until then, my explanation is that it is within the context of parody/satire.;)

Royal courtroom drama less than 900 words

Oh yeah in regards to the character Dope. The name does not fit the character. He is a young, handsome, and well educated nobleman who is a womanizing playboy that finds true love with a low class common slave. And the scene before explains WHY Dope was not in his designated seat. The absurd...

    Between narration and dialogue.

I myself interject dialogue when it feels right for my story. I too believe there is really no formula to this as long as the writer is good enough to get his/her story across. I just wondered if the best selling authors had their own formula on how to they keep their readers interested without...

Royal courtroom drama less than 900 words

I don't capitalize characters emperor, head sage, chamberlain, and chieftain on purpose. Please don't make me explain why. With that said, your rewrite of my first paragraph was beneficial. Hopefully with your help and others I won't have to pay an editor a hefty fee to make my work more readable.

    Between narration and dialogue.

What in your opinion is the preferred method to interject dialogue sequences in between narration/prose to not lose reader interest? Every 2 pages, 5 pages, 10 pages?

I know I definitely need help in my writing for sure. I can't afford to pay an editor $1500-$2000 to fix my amateur mistakes again. I think this time around with the helpful critiquing I have already received, I now have a better idea on how to eliminate redundancies, cutting down on the long...

Royal courtroom drama less than 900 words

Aww..so my writing is not as exquisitely compelling or intriguing as Martin's? But I see what you mean Peter. The basic gist of this scene is that I'm trying to make fun of the plot heavy scenes that I have seen in Game of Thrones and other TV/theater based fiction/fantasy movies in the...

Royal courtroom drama less than 900 words

Your right on point there. I'm trying to make the mood of prose in this particular scene like its a chronicled event. But as others pointed out, I see that I can eliminate some description to make it easier to read. I love being descriptive with colorful adjectives and adverbs. Yet I see the...

Royal courtroom drama less than 900 words

Yeah that first paragraph was bad. Let me fix it better. A very red in the face Redd continued to debate the head sage in front of the emperor upon his elaborate altar/throne of pillows and silk satins. There the minor sages seated in choir like fashion, watched solemnly and stoically...

So you did not find my dialogue intellectually riveting with all the big fancy words I used??

Royal courtroom drama less than 900 words

A very red in the face Redd continued to debate the head sage in front of the emperor upon his elaborate altar/throne of pillows and silk satins. And with all the sages seated in choir like fashion, solemnly and stoically behind him within the highly vaulted background. Dope was handled...

    Zatoichi (1989)

I saw that film on cable a few years ago. I liked it a lot since I was already a fan of the films from the 60's.

    Fantastica-Victorio Velasquez

My 2 internet press release book reviews so far. BOOK REVIEW.com Victorio Velasquez, author of "Fantastica: Volume I," claims that his book is a dark new age parody/satire/spoof of the fiction/fantasy genre, and that it is like "no other before or after." So, does the book hold up to this...

I was sold on this part. Best of luck in getting this fantasy/fiction idea published.

A violent scene. PG 13 or R? 300 plus words

Right. I did not mean arguing in being CONFRONTATIONAL. More like civil debate without personal insults.

A violent scene. PG 13 or R? 300 plus words

I believe I am learning here. I was just kidding about that boundary shattering writing style crap. My sense of humor tends to sometimes rub people the wrong way that I'm arrogant. I know I am a FLAWED writer for sure. I have already had one decently positive review for my work so far. The...

A violent scene. PG 13 or R? 300 plus words

I think it is if I just tighten up my style. And the reason why there was no reaction to the killing by the opposing army is because they are soldiers of the imperial cavalry who are trained to keep their emotions in check in the face of such killing. The excerpt makes a reference to this. Is...
