    Gail Carriger - Any info?

They remind me a bit of Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody and her husband. I find them very amusing.

Here is how Baen has the series listed: http://www.baen.com/series_list.asp?letter=W#WarGod I notice that the first book now includes a novella that had previously been published in an anthology.

Looks like there is going to be another book in the War God series. According to Fantastic Fiction, it will be coming out in July. https://catalog.simonandschuster.com/Covers800/9781451638356.jpg I'm very fond of this series and look forward to seeing it.

And then when you get really old (like me) you lose the patience because you don't have that much time left and there are so many good books out there to be read. "Sigh":(

I only do it for my favorite authors and while I like David Weber, I don't like him well enough to spend that kind of money.

Baen did that with Sharon Lee/Steve Miller's latest book, Ghost Ship. I ended up buying both.

I think you mean Magic at the Gate by Devon Monk. The book's heroine is Allie Beckstrom.

Recommendations for boy just discovering not all YA is equally enthralling.

I'd follow up on The Hunger Games trilogy. Sherwood Smith's Inda quartet is pretty good. He might like The Magic of Recluce by L.E. Modesitt, Jr. and some of the other Recluce books.

    Space Opera

Not mentioned yet, but Sharon Lee & Steve Miller write some pretty good stuff. You might like to start with Agent of Change.

Book set in the future Northwest area of North America

It's a trilogy starting with Warrior, followed by Wanderer and then Witch. I liked them when I first read the books, but then went back years later and found them very amateurish.

    Books involving Gods as characters.

You might try N. K. Jemisin's Inheritance trilogy, starting with The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms. The last book of this trilogy is due out this October.

    September Book Releases

What tickles my funnybone is "The Dragon with the Girl Tatoo" by Adam Roberts. I've not read any of his books, but Werthead says he is very funny. There are a number of books I didn't know were being released this month that I will definitely be buying.

Kate Griffin - Mathew Swift Series

I've read all three of the published books and liked them enough so that I'll buy the next book when it comes out.

Yes, I've read all but the one not out yet and found them very enjoyable. They're light, fun reads.

    New Book, can't find

It's ringing a bell, but not quite loud enough. I think the main characters were fey. I'll try to remember more later.
