Arya's chapter of coming to Braavos came to mind - it mentions the Moonsingers (who are the followers of an unmentioned religion) and the Father of Waters. Then there's also the Great Other. That's all I could come up with... Very curious to find out which ones I missed :)

HBO Season 3 News, Rumors, etc.

Couldn't find a thread for this (only for season 2) so decided to open one. They announced some casting news at comic-con: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpSDSgChsaI I think it looks very promising, as usual :) The wiki page has a few more that weren't included in the video...

    Patchface

When people face life-threatening situations, they usually see flashes of their lives before them. Key moments and significant memories. I think that's what happened to Patchface when he drowned. But instead of seeing his own life (it is a fantasy universe) he got to see a lot more than just...

He's one of the 5 I had in mind. There's two you haven't mentioned, who are dead. And one more who might never have existed :)

The Others, do they even stand a chance?

If only it were that simple... If the others attacked the kingdoms all out, in such a way that would pose a threat to the entire realm, the first reaction might be unity. But wait a few days and you'll get Cersei backstabbing everyone else in this new anti-Others alliance. On a different...

Battle of the Titans: Bronn vs Sandor

Boaz - I admire your posts and am inspired by you, somehow you always find new and innovative things to post (that I could never hope to come up with, with the minute experience I have in literature). No offence meant... :)

Battle of the Titans: Bronn vs Sandor

The fact that Sandor has such a huge weakness (Fire) couldn't elude someone as sharp as Bronn, especially since as you say, he's always gathering intel about his possible opponents.

Boaz got me thinking of professions, so please name as many bards/singers as you can remember.

The Dragons in The Winds of Winter?

I think it's likely we'll see the death of at least one of her dragons. Everyone except for Dany-loyalists would rather see a dead dragon than having Dany control it. If taming it is out of the question, with the damage they do, and how wild they seem to be, it looks to me like it's inevitable...

    A GAME of thrones

Maybe they counted on people getting annoyed with the accent and muting the sound.

Who would think such a thing?

    I think it's Davos, but I can't find the headache connection :(

    A GAME of thrones

Looks very interesting, I'll probably pick it up myself. I wonder how faithful they'll be to the books. They have a lot to live up to - with how successful recent RPGs were, and the TV series is. I love 1:37 of that trailer! It's brilliant!!

A thought about Game of Thrones on TV

Spoilers ahead! I agree with you about the Brave Companions. They're crucial for book 3 (which is split into 2 seasons, isn't it?) From Wiki of Ice and Fire: Ser Edmure Tully commands Roose to join up with Ser Helman Tallhart coming down from the Twins and to retake Harrenhal.[8] Roose...

A thought about Game of Thrones on TV

It's a shame about the brave companions, I was really looking forward to see Vargo Hoat! I was wondering when are they going to start talking about Beric's company. And what's Roose Bolton doing with Robb? He should be in Harrenhal! As for Tywin, I think they really captured his character...

    A question about warging

The way I understood it, Varamyr was more "in command" of his animals, rather than "in control" of them (the way Bran is with Summer). One of the cool aspects that come with warging, I would imagine, is being able to create a close relationship with the animal, so that it trusts and listens to...
