It may not be all over...

She is currently writing a political science, if I am correct in saying so. I would read any book pertaining to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter solely because of its contents. I grew up with the series (well, I jumped on board when the 6th book came out...). However, I, if I could pick...

Book1 : Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone.

I love the aspect that if you read the series and then go back and reread, you can see how much Rowling PLANNED. It is evident and what boosts her stories to the next level.

    Shocking revelation?

I am sure it has been covered, but let me add: Dumbledore being gay is her idea and respect it (I have some complaints with little bits of the Lotr, but I absolutely love the story Tolkien writes). Now, I think Dumbledore being gay only fits perfectly. His greatest bearing was love, which is...

Deathly Hallows split into two movies, Good or Bad?

The idea was brilliant. I really enjoy the first part. The point of releasing the second half in summer is to compete with te other summer films (and to break records)! As with the success of splitting HP7, I am super psyched about The Hobbit being two films!

J K Rowling should give 90% of her cash to charity.

She doesn't have nearly as much as people who haven't contributed a single GOOD thing to pop culture. If you are going to save the world, you do it and there is no valid reason to make Rowling do it for you. If you are going to pick on an author, pick on Meyers. Not even we of the Chrons like her.

    The point of Quidditch

I think Quidditch also adds a bit of actuality to the stories. Because wizards use magic they don't necessarily need to be in shape. However, the sport of Quidditch shows that there is an actual need to be in shape if you want to catch the quaffle, outrun a beater or catch the snitch.

    Eragon

Right now, I am in the part of Fellowship where they are fleeing the Ringwraiths with Strider (Aragorn). I'm loving book Aragorn more. One complaint about Tolkien is how he has his characters just do stuff. Like, The Hobbit, Gandalf goes to Bilbo's house with all the dwarves and without too much...

High-level school paper: comparison of Tolkien's Gandalf with Rowling's Dumbledore

Re: High-level school paper: comparison of Tolkien's Gandalf with Rowling's Dumbledor digs, thank you very much. I will make note of what you have said. Clansman. I am not making a simple research report. I am writing an investigation. My whole 3,500 word essay is dependent on sources. I may...

High-level school paper: comparison of Tolkien's Gandalf with Rowling's Dumbledore

Re: High-level school paper: comparison of Tolkien's Gandalf with Rowling's Dumbledor Trust me, I have read articles about Gandalf (such as Wikipedia and most of the links there). I know about the Istari and whatnot. Why I have concluded from the books is that whole reading I learn physical...

    Eragon

Yes, I am talking about the book that "stole" Star Wars. Yes, as a stand alone book, Eragon is all too similar, I'll admit that. It is even that Eldest follows the same path as Eragon. Brisingr is the redeaming factor as it actually goes off into a new story and branches off from Star Wars. I'm...

High-level school paper: comparison of Tolkien's Gandalf with Rowling's Dumbledore

Let me start out by saying that I have scoured the Internet trying to find intellectual comparisons and there are none; I have found, what seems, no better place than this forum here to ask my questions. I am posting in the Tolkien forum because you guys seem smarter. ;) If this is in the wrong...
