War in Hypercolour Prologue (1038 words)

Added a few more words and most of everyones suggestions. I'm going to keep all of this in mind, I probably won't revise this until I've finished the whole thing, need to continue the story after all. Let me know if this is or isn't an improvement. **** “They’re punching us in the face...

War in Hypercolour Prologue (1038 words)

This was really interest feedback. It seems it was a blow by blow account of your reactions as you where reading? On your main points 1. Clarity - I could have taken more time to explain things, or hidden more concepts and words that I didn't want to explain right away - but I guess I was just...

War in Hypercolour Prologue (1038 words)

Thank you for your comments! When separated, errors in these sentences are really easy to spot. I'll clean up my language, i'll try to make it less floury, maybe it'll make it easier for me to read also. As for paragraphing, how do they work? Even the basics I don't understand. (new line or...

War in Hypercolour Prologue (1038 words)

Yes! From 2005 to 2009 I played it a LOT, then I became too busy. This story takes a lot of influences from there, BCI interfaces, frozen bodies, mostly, though, it showed how fleets could organise themselves if, instead of typical navel traditions with hundreds of crew members per ship...

War in Hypercolour Prologue (1038 words)

Thank you! And I honestly didn't know better with manoeuvre, I just saw the suggestion and went with it (attempts to set google doc dictionary to british).. That's very true from my experience, although sometimes I have an image in my mind I'm trying to describe. I used to think really...

War in Hypercolour Prologue (1038 words)

Hello. I've been attempting to write for years. However I'm often unable to spot even the most glaring of errors in my own stuff. This frequently discourages me, and/or I find myself often having to re-write things over and over. I often find myself being inspired to write something because the...

I'm building a religion... I'm building it bigger

My current plan is to produce a a cross between a "terran trade authority" and "Galactic Motors" style book with some images and text. Then move on from there. I'll add that to the FAQ.

I'm building a religion... I'm building it bigger

That's a fair comment. I'm probably the worst person to proof read my own work. I tend to read what I expect to see instead of what is actually written. Combine that with some dyslexia and I could re-read my own work 5 or 10 times, failing to correct basic spelling and grammatical mistakes...

I'm building a religion... I'm building it bigger

I've probably gone 10-20k words though 3 or 4 stories or re-writes. Mind, this has been over a period of around 5 years.

I'm building a religion... I'm building it bigger

Ok, so I've just removed this ship from the list. The site straddled between a personal blog and a single subject site. Hence the ships from a different universe in there. But, it appears that it was more confusing than useful so I pulled it. :D

    Sci-fi actually needs science

Regardless of the accuracy of the science, I tend to find that it's more important to have rules, constraints on the powers of your characters - . I find the internal consistency of weber, campbell etc more important than if they get the science completely right because it helps me understand...

I'm building a religion... I'm building it bigger

Correct, I sometimes like to model star trek style ships (*horrible* mashups of JJ-trek and VOY era styles) - sometimes for competitions, sometimes just for fun. The Recalcitrant was actually me learning how to model in C4D (conversion from 3ds Max) - As this is a blog, most things get thrown in...

I'm building a religion... I'm building it bigger

Hello SFF Chronicles. This is probably my first post in a very long time and I wanted to get your opinions and develop a general FAQ for a universe I'm cooking up. I'm Valentine Obasuyi, 31, from the UK and I like to make Spaceships. If you landed on this blog: the sky union What would your...

I'm confused... what is space and time?

I think you guys have gone far above and beyond the original point of this post! Most simpley, time is a 3 dimensional beings way of seeing the 4 dimensional universe. To put it another way, time, is the way an observer would view the dimension above. If we where a flatlander (2d creature)...

    Burning Water

I'm current doing an art project along the themes of water. I'm reminded of projects involing Alkali (sp?) metals in which water was a reactant. I was wondering if any of you might have any other examples of which water could be "burnt". Eg. - Chip pan fires (adding water exacerbates the...

    Time War

Ash Words instead of numbers seem like a very good idea, i'll take it on board from now on. Anayo I'm very glad you enjoyed it, and yes, I did think about Asomov's laws of robots whilst writing this (laws which I thoroughly dissagree with but where a good vechical for a story) unfortunately...

    Time War

Im open to crits both on grammar/sentance order and on the philosophical content! It's rewriten for more as a personal referance than a publishable end product. The concepts are also heavily inspired by Rob Bryanton's book; 'Imaging the Tenth Dimensions'. Thanks...
