I am in agreement, I am also glad he is not attempting to write them back to back either but taking time to write other stories as evidenced by the his new book set in the Mistborn world.
I assume there are probably some rational reasons behind this not happening very often cost cutting measures perhaps, i assume adding artwork to a book would be a fairly sizeable investment that the publishers may simply never see a good enough return on.
I also find myself wishing for a...
I recall reading a book many years ago that I didn't finish. I remember it had a white cover (was the first in a series aswell) and the "evil" creatures in it were flying gargoyle type creatures armed with swords that would extend an extra length from the hilt when a button was pressed. The main...
Thanks very much for the offer, I got the first one on kindle. I am in no real rush to get the rest of the series just yet though, once again thanks for the offer.
Read the first Old Mans War book the other week and was very impressed. Can anyone provide any idea on why the second book is not available on kindle yet the others are???
I agree that we will see the merging of devices as you said we are already seeing it with the availability of kindle "reader" apps and programs for pcs and other devices amazon themselves even provide a cloud reader now. Effectively these products already exist its just those advances need to...
I think dedicated ereaders will be around for quite awhile. They have 3 major selling points over other devices at this point in time, these selling points are also technological sticking points. Battery life is quite fantastic, e-ink readability, and price. Until these things can be replicated...
I agree Stannis is a fantastic "character" and the proof of that to me is that i totally despise him for all the reasons you stated, they are all true. He is exactly how he is supposed to be though which makes him great. I still hope he meets a very ignoble end though :)
I've always wondered how much say an author gets in the artwork, from looking at trends I'd have to assume the publisher has alot more say than the author. It seems to me a trend would be more likely to be followed or pushed by a publisher than a huge collection of authors all pushing for that...
I really don't think Doran cares if Balon finds Darkstar, I'm of the opinion Darkstar aint the type to try and rationalise his way out of it he will simply put Balon down without breaking a sweat if he comes knocking.
I agree it pretty much has to be Skagos but why would Osha take him there of all places why run to an island of cannibals ?
It would be pretty awesome if he gets served up for a feast , scratch another Stark lol.
I have a feeling there is going to be a whole bunch of Jon fanboy hate going on when people start finishing this in droves.
Anyway where does everyone think Davos was sent by Manderly ? I'd say it was Skagos but anyone have any other theories?
Re: "TV Fan's" Backlash
I bet all these people who disliked ned being shortened by a head (provided they continue watching and we get that far) will be cheering at Joffs wedding.
Funnily enough both are the reactions that will completely justify once again how awesome of a storyteller Martin.
There are things missing yes, the main reason for this is the fact that different mediums require a totally different "style" to get the story across visual mediums require much more fluidity to keep the story moving. I think they have done a fantastic job on the series sure there are always...
I though the scene with Tywin was pure genius having the dialog fit perfectly with him "skinning a stag" at the same time as he talks about esentially replacing baratheon power with lanister power. Only downfall was tywin did not look right at all .
