Some things that rowling *might* have copied from other authors

Agreed, which is my gripe with Rowling since she seems oblivious of this fact and arrogantly repels the idea that she copied anything from anyone. So, I wanted to prove to people that she's not entirely original and yes, there had been others who thought of that world before.

    Enders Game: The Movie

Have you read the rest of the books? I particularly recommend Xenocide. It's my favorite of the series. :)

Well, she's too rich to be grateful to anyone so I think you're right on that one.

Some things that rowling *might* have copied from other authors

No. He doesn't. And Rowling has had her time with that too. People have accused her of stealing Gaiman's work (well, as far as Harry's physical appearance is concerned anyway), but Gaiman (being the gentleman that he is) dispelled all that talk and said that aside from the superficial...

That picture is from the Vertigo Paperback edition released April 14, 1993, and the first Harry Potter Book - the Philosopher's Stone - was published 30 June 1997.

    Fan Fiction please

I don't know if it can be considered fanfiction, but in another forum, Tolkien fans play RPGs that is more like co-authoring than role playing. If the stories actually finish and someone takes the time (and effort) editing the posts, the RPGs could be turned into fanfics for LOTR.

Some things that rowling *might* have copied from other authors

I'm sure some of you noticed that too, the similarities between her work and Tolkien's. But you know, she might have been inspired by other authors, too, and she might have copied some stuffs from other authors. (or I could just be making this up to have something to talk about here.) Anyways...

Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett Novel - GOOD OMENS

Johnny Depp as Crowley would have been PERFECT! I can already see him in that black Bentley of his! Incredible vision! Who would be a perfect Aziraphale would you say? Orlando Bloom?

    Buggers !

I think the use of the word Buggers on the enemy is very realistic. During the Vietnam war, the Vietnamese were nicknamed VietCongs or Congs by the American Soldiers, and anyone who displays even a shadow of Hitler is called a Nazi. It's natural for us humans to name our enemies with nicks...

    The Abyss

THE ABYSS? I don't think that is part of the Ender's Game or Ender's Shadow series. Does it say that it's part of the collection?

    "Deathly Hallows" - two films....

Agree. WB is milking the films for everything they're worth, which isn't supposed to be much if one based it on acting or production. I don't know what the appeal is, why the films have been steadily enjoying great boxoffice returns when they're not really that good.

Did "Deathly Hallows" feel like it was ghost written?

Thanks! Yeah, it's been too long! I miss this place. As for Deathly Hallows, I think Teresa has hit it right at the head. JK might have been dying to end the series and start on something new (or maybe just have time to enjoy all that money she's made from writing the series). That would...

Did "Deathly Hallows" feel like it was ghost written?

I've never been a fan of Rowling. Not when it came to her writing anyway. Most of the things she used in her fic had been conceptualized by other writers (i.e. Neil Gaiman, Philip Pullman, Terry Pratchett), and the plotline of the saga is also not unique. But I have read all the HP books and...
