Brought the Count of Monte Cristo the other day. Is it any good? I'm reading Crime and Punishment at the moment, I think Raskolnikoff is about to admit it- exciting stuff.
You'd probably like them. They're books about books and story-telling. I really like the first two (Inkheart & Inkspell) and wish the last would hurry and come out.
I really like his books because he seems to care about his characters and he makes us care about them, too. what i mean is that he won't kill somebody off for no good reason like some other authors do.
I'm not sure, but In the Tawny Man series, the Fool seems to be in love with Fitz. Does that mean that te\he Fool is gay? Nevertheless, he is still one of my fav characters.
I would never do that to my fav legends like Heinlein,Vance,,REH,Asimov when i can find their books as brand new and collect them and read to pieces myself .
Im a big fan of Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy and the 2 trilogys that follow.
There is a fair amount of sword work amongst the magic/technological war machines and the alien enemies.
I also have to say that I entirely understand Rowan Atkinsons fears. I only hope that the legislators get the wording of this Act spot on because you can be sure there will be someone in the PC-brigade who will try to use this in a spurious prosecution.
The site is still in Beta mode, so it's not yet open to the public, but if anyone reads this and wants to get into it, I'm currently a Beta Tester & could probably get you in as one.
Death Gate and Rose of the prophet were good, Sovereign Stone even beter, that series about the sword really sucked, haven't read other series from them...
