I am glad to see that I am not the only one that found the series on a crash course...of course, I still haven't been able to finish reading book 2! Yet there are so many...I figured I must be missing something. :confused:

Just finished "Nine Princes In Amber" (Zelazny) and am going to read "The Last Unicorn" (Beagle) next.

How about "Andromeda Strain"?

I was delightfully introduced to Hobb's style of writing (I agree that it is more character-based than plot based) with a book of hers called "Shaman's Crossing," which I found very difficult to put down. I'd definitely recommend it.
