my personal favorite is actually a manwha called Priest. Has an amazing, hard edged style and a cool, pulpy story to go with it.

Mostly new since I can get impatient when I find a book that a want is coming out soon. If, however, the book has been out and I find it at a used book store and it doesn't stink of bad cheese...I will gladly buy it. Though this is due to my own personal greed rather than helping the poor book...

Wish I could come up with suggestions, but right now I am struck dumb by how awesome this whole thing is.

Great to see someone else who loved it. Shoot 'Em Up is awesome, unfortunately few saw it in theaters (kinda like Grindhouse).

Do you mean is writing in present tense considered bad writing? If so then I would say no it is not. I know people who actually prefer it. Helps them feel in the moment and all that as opposed to being in the past.
