Getting back on topic, I just last night finished The Ill-Made Mute by Cecilia Dart-Thornton, and that was quite an amazing read. It is set in a rich world peopled by the beings of Celtic mythology, and is written in very eloquent language.
I had trouble getting into it at first, because I did...
I guess I am really odd, but the pirate Kennit in the Liveship series was sexy for me. Also,Capt. Kirk (The Old Series) and Capt. Archer of "Enterprise."
John Crichton is dead sexy!
Elric of Melnibone......disturbing, thinking person's hero/antihero?
Vivacia.....the young Liveship in Ship of Magic.
The woman protagonist in Harriet Arnow's The Dollmaker.......strongest woman in all of literature.
Demetrius in The Robe.......the loyal slave/friend of Marcellus.
I am a bit disappointed by The Book of Shadows, not that it isn't well--written but it is just a bit more explicit and violent than I expected. I'll stick with it for a while longer, though, try to be fair.
I just finished Cavern of Black Ice by J.V. Jones and have started The Book of Shadows by James Reeve (I think that's his name). After that, I have a novel about Xenophon's troops called The Ten Thousand which looks promising.
I adore Robin of Sherwood....watched it when it was a series on Showtime years back.
My dauighter bought me a boxed set of the first two seasons, but it is unfortunately unplayable because it is in PAL format. But I love to look at the pretty pics of Robin and Heane on the box cover!
I love...
I really love "Wrath of Khan" and think it is the best, but I also like "Search for Spock" a great deal. "Voyage Home" is great, campy stuff, but I have to put Khan first.
I haven't seen "Nemesis" yet and am looking forward to it.
