Some agents take forever to reply, some never reply. Some occasionally give feedback. I would advise having queries out to maybe 5-8 agents at any given time. If you get no positive response (or no responses at all) then you need to rework you query, but at least you haven't burned your chances...

Not Gollancz but Angry Robot (no thread for their open door this time) - tweeted on Nov 24th that they have looked at all the submissions they received (over 900) and replied to hose they are interested in. If you've heard nothing consider this a rejection.

A Google search of "how to find my family tartan" bring up a list of possible resources which at least offers a start, a lot seem to start with a surname though. This might be useful Guidance - The Scottish Register of Tartans

Who knows. The Baen reading panel sent me their report after they turned it down.

Their record at Companies House shows that the company was dissolved in August this year.
