Tor opening for short fiction 1st October

Yes, why not indeed. Trying to crack one of the top markets is something we should be trying to do, because you never know. I mean, look at all the cool things Chrons people are doing these days!

Yeah I wonder how long it will take them. On the Grinder, it says they currently have 86 pending responses, and that is just that one site. But to be fair, if they weren't open for submissions for most of those with an average of 110 days waiting, they wouldn't have replied to them.

Will probably be a long haul. I like how they say, send one, if it's rejected send another...This could take a while!

Well, what's cool is that they allow simultaneous subs, so I plan to take advantage of that.

I'm so glad that was caught early. Yes I made an error and confused it with another site I visited that same day. Tor's exact words were, "please don't."
Damn!

Cheers for the heads up, and those posting about their own short word counts.

Might be able to submit something to this, although there doesn't appear to be a deadline.

Edited extra bit: should the submission be double-spaced?

I went with Standard Manuscript form, so double spaced.

Aye, I ended up doing that [I'm impatient :p ].

Now I'm wondering if it's worth writing a novella and just keeping it somewhere for when that window opens (a follow-up to the Zodiac Eclipse serial could work nicely in that regard).

I submitted a 'short' for this a couple of days ago... My only worry is that it weighed in at a hefty 15k!
