Bristolcon 2015

Finally bought my ticket yesterday -- almost bought two when IE froze when I tried, and failed, to print out the confirmation page (but then the confirmation email arrived) -- so should be there to see a few of you**.

** - So far I've seen, after a glance down the list: Alex, Anne Lyle, chopper, Gary, Glitch, JenJen, Serendipity and Sue Boulton on the list (some hiding behind their real names). I'll be wearing a badge saying, I hope, "Paul (Ursa)".

Are we going to gather for lunch?

I promise to keep lunch free this time... (my bad last time - sorry)... unless the programme mistress puts me on for something around that time... in which I'm sure I can turn up late or leave early...

I can't be with all that gathering food: I want it to be delivered, cooked, to the table...!

*cough*

I assume that some of us will be heading off for lunch at some stage -- I will, if only because I have to have food with my medication (a single pill) -- so we'll need to work out who's interested in joining us and when's the best time to go. At the moment, this year's programme is not yet available (at least not to me, a mere mortal), but as soon as it is, we can set the ball rolling (gathering, initially, here :)).

Oh, and I'm rather hoping Gary will be bringing some stock with him: I'm looking forward to buying Hobgoblin Night.

EDIT: In fact, I'd rather like to get a matching set of both of the Mask and Dagger novels.

I hope to be there, but looking back at previous years, I've rarely booked this "early" (which perhaps explains why the room rates I've paid have been a lot lower than this year's "offers"...).

Oh what a lovely bear. I could tickle your furry cheeks.

I am trying to hire somewhere like a caravan or a cottage. Then me the durg and the ball and chain herself will be coming. The Edge-lit experience wasn't for me. Nothing to do with the con - just not being able to find the venue, then not being able to find parking and I took far too many books. I like a slow pace with order!

I've been told they are in the process of finalising the programme and hope to get it to the printers on Saturday... so all being well it should soon be up on the website.

indeed. it's a packed programme. i'm bloody nervous.

(ETA: the penny has just dropped. hi!)

And the penny has just dropped here as well - knocking me firmly on the head to let me see the stars (sorry couldn't resist) - hello chopper - depending which way things go, I could make things VERY interesting... that's all I'm saying...

I suppose I should try to go - but the train ride is excessive. I will talk to Colin about the possibility of sleeping in Reading, which at least puts me on the right set of rails…

The venue is literally an easy ten minutes walk away from Bristol Temple Meads station... (five minutes speed walking...). So there's no problems at this end of the country. The convention officially opens at 0950am with welcome speeches. Panels start at 1000am. Hope this info helps you make your travel plans... (train journey times are about an hour from Reading and about 90 minutes from London Paddington)

the convention programme is live! if you really want to, you can see Serendipity & me on the same panel!
