Hi

I have been looking for a info about pkd short stories which he later made into novels. Like A Terran Odyssey / Dr. Bloodmoney. I remember there being several others. A comprehensive list of some sort would be fantastic.

Welcome to the Chrons.

According to ISFDB, that's the other way around - "A Terran Odyssey" was excerpted from Dr. Bloodmoney. I don't know of a definitive list but SFE does list:

The Cosmic Puppets (written 1953; 1956 Satellite as "A Glass of Darkness"; exp 1957 dos)
Dr Futurity (written 1953; 1954 Thrilling Wonder as "Time Pawn"; exp 1959 dos)
Vulcan's Hammer (1956 Future Science Fiction #29; exp 1960)
Martian Time-Slip (written 1962; August-December 1963 Worlds of Tomorrow as "All We Marsmen"; exp 1964)

However, only the middle two are novellas turned into novels - the first and last were novels that were just turned into slightly bigger novels. It does seem like the endnotes in my PKD CS volumes do mention stories not included because they became parts of novels and that there were more than those two, but I don't know.

Probably someone will come along shortly with an exhaustively detailed and annotated list but conceivably not and, either way, there's that much for now. :)

I only know of one, but it's a biggie.

Ender's Game started as a short story/novella? and "ended" up as one of the classic S.F. books of all time.

There are four PKD novellas that he expanded into novels:
  • Time Pawn (1954) → Dr. Futurity (1960)
  • Vulcan's Hammer (1956) → Vulcan's Hammer (1960)
  • Cantata 140 (1964) → The Crack in Space (1966)
  • The Unteleported Man (1964) → The Unteleported Man / Lies, Inc. (1983/1984/2004)

Thanks for linking to that site - very spiffy. I linked to the Asimov page in the Asimov forum as I suspect that page will be of interest to his fans. :)

Cool

also just found out about Shell Game / Clans of the Alphane Moon

Got Clans of the Alphane Moon in the mail recently, can't wait to read it!
Shell Game was definetely a highlight of the third short stories collection "The Father Thing".
