From the source:
[Rhianna] will be a co-writer on the BBC Discworld series The Watch, news of which has had fans like me chewing their cheeks in excitement. Mine may never recover after hearing some particularly exciting casting details that I'm absolutely not allowed to tell you about.
Run by Pratchett's new production company, Narrativia, The Watch will continue the well-loved City Watch saga where the books left off, and Rhianna will be an important member of the writing team. The author tells me that he will be happy for her to continue writing the Discworld books when he is no longer able to do so. "The Discworld is safe in my daughter's hands," Pratchett assures me.
Rhianna has grown up immersed in her father's universe and knows it inside out. Listening to him talking about his daughter, I realise it is the first time I've heard him acknowledge the possibility of not being able to write any more.
Thoughts and reactions?

Sorry to hear about the speed of his decline, and that we nearly lost him recently. Best of luck to Rhianna, those are big shoes to step into.

Pleased to hear that his assistant Rob was at hand, and was able to revive him - well done Rob. Still sad to hear, though, and hope he continues with us for a long, long time. TP is an absolute genius, and as you say, big shoes for his daughter to step into ...

Sounds more like a heart attack than arterial fibrillation. (Though I believe I read somewhere that he has had an angioplasty already). Not nice, but he seems to have made a good recovery.

He said a while ago in another interview that Rhianna could continue the Discworld but only if she wants to (She does have a life of her own after all).

I am sure she will be good, her style will be different of course and maybe a bit more darker if you look at the video game scripts she has written (Overlord 1 and 2)

I will deffinately buy any of her books, if for no other reason than to honour Sir Terry. we will just have to keep an open mind and remember that this will be a new chapter in the discworld.

Best of luck to her

Sir Terry has been getting pretty dark in his last few works to, namely Snuff.

No, the series won't be continuing . Shepherds Crown will be the last novel . All good things must com to an end.

I read an interview with Rhianna not so long ago, from about a year ago maybe more, where said she would continue the series...

Well yes everything comes to an end eventually and it's a pretty big body of work that we have been left with.

I'm quite glad Rhianna has decided that neither she nor anyone else will be continuing the series - it wouldn't be the same, and there's too much risk of Christopher Tolkien happening...

I agree - it would be a shame to try and drag out something that will otherwise be well-remembered for a long time anyway.

And welcome to chronicles, Darren. :)

Whilst not a Discworld reader (read a few, but not many), I agree. I'm sure she felt a lot of pressure to continue it, but if her heart isn't in it, this is the right choice.
