Who would win in a fight between ...

roflmao.

Karsa would have no problem against Treebeard.

Again, probably the Malazans - they're trained, disciplined, and also completely insane, which would give them the edge. Plus, malazans use magic in their battles, whereas none of Tolkien's armies do - the magic in middle earth is less direct, mostly.

Rake vs Gandalf might be a lot closer - on the other hand, Gandalf can't semble into a giant dragon, can he?

Karsa and Treebeard would be scary to watch. Treebeard is better natured, but if he got really mad, I think he would eke out a split decision.

Because of the mages, the Malazan army wins -- but barely, because the Nazgul wreak a lot of havoc.

Gandalf loses Fight One but comes back to win the rematch.

Not yet. In fact I just now finished Midnight Tides and have stepped away from Erikson to read a SF book by Chris Stevenson called Word Wars. But Bonehunters is on my bookshelf and up next. I've been writing so much, the quantity of my reading has suffered a little.

How do you rate Reaper's Gale?

Pretty damn good. And, finally, a book in which I can actually like Karsa as a character:)

He is severely kick-ass. Treebeard would stand little chance, I feel.

Karsa Orlong was 85 feet tall, weighed as much as a small mountain and had the EXACT same temper as a broken Honda Civic.

But... could he take on a Frodo and Optimus Prime tag-team?

Seriously guys, who cares who would win in a fight? These type of threads are a waste of time.

Sorry for expressing an opinion. Maybe we should all get together and have a communal back-pat.
