Many of us never thought we'd see the story of the Wheel of Time actually finished after Robert Jordan passed away, but Brandon Sanderson announced on Twitter earlier that he had finished writing the final book, A Memory of Light.

Ladies and gentlemen, A Memory of Light--the final book in The Wheel of Time--has been finished.

It's been a long time, but it'll be good to see how the story finally finishes.:)

Yes it will. Regardless of one's opinion on how the series developed in the middle section, Sanderson has been ending it well, and the beginning books stand as some of my all time favourites.

Nice to have finally seen some character development in Rand. Long overdue.

This news pleases me greatly . . . .

However I cannot be the only one who will approach the conclusion of this epic story with a mixture of desire and apprehension?

I remain sure that it will live up to expectation; but this story line has been lurking in the back of my mind for the last ten years waiting for a conclusion . . . . part of me does not want the ride to end. I love these characters too much, I have gained an intimate understanding of them.

Still I will buy the book and no doubt take a week of work for when it is released.

I just don't know if it's worth starting the series from all the complaints about how in the middle of the series nothing happens and the books plod along. I actually have the first 8 on my bookshelf, my wife read the first 6 and she thought they started bogging down. I would really like to give them a go seeing as the series is complete and my friend has read them all to date and he raves about them.

There's no denying that they do start boggin down in the middle books. Since you already have the first 8, you might as well go for it.

Read the first 6 or 7, read the synopsis or summary on Wiki for books 8 to 10 (you won't miss much) and then pick up again from Book 11.

Book 10 wasn't so bad . . . . not great; but definitely moving back on track. I'd say read ten but skip the others DA suggested.

Are you sure about reading the synopsis on Wiki? Maybe I might even like those books, if/when I do start the books I will obviously attempt those ones you mentioned but if they fall flat then I will take your advice :)

I wish I had just read the wiki synopsis of those books.
But the series is ending just as good as it began in my opinion.
I can't wait to get A Memory of Light

I've read them all the way up to Knife of Dreams nonstop so far and I've enjoyed every minute of it. Go for it!

My feeling exactly! Even those books in the middle that many seem to hate I felt were an opportunity to spend some time with old friends who I have grown to love.

I'm just hoping he uses my name in it!!! Even if he doesn't I'm still very much looking forward to the end :)

I am glad that the series is completed. I cannot wait for the final book to be on the shelf.
I am currently rereading this series.

Began these books when I was a teenager. Stopped reading them once Jordan died. Can't wait for Memory of Light.

I can't wait to have my questions answered.

Where is Demandred?

How will Logain gain glory?

What is wrong at the Black Tower?

What will Padan Fain do?

I have so many questions.
