We have the final cover art for the reprint edition of Goblin Moon, which should -- if we don't encounter any more obstacles -- be available in a nice trade paperback before the end of September. (Please, everyone, keep your fingers crossed!) Those of you whose old Ace paperbacks are yellow and crumbling will have a chance to replace them with something better, and I hope that those who have not yet read the book will be tempted by the cover and the sample chapter I will be posting just as soon as I know for sure if we'll be releasing the book on time.

There may (and I am not certain of this, because there are things that need to be sort out first) be a Kindle edition before the end of the year, but I can make no promises.

In any case, for your viewing pleasure:

Very nice, Teresa - and a whole lot more attractive than the old Ace Den Beauvais cover, which is a bit fussy for me. This one's clean, simple, and shouts "Pick Me Up!"

Thanks! I'm pretty excited about it.

I always had mixed feelings about the Beauvais cover. It wasn't an accurate representation of the book, but it was sooo much more attractive than the Dean Morrissey covers on the previous books (especially TWOS!).

Very smart, Teresa! I actually quite like the Beauvais cover Pyan mentions though!

Thank you all. I do hope that new readers will feel the same.

Wow! I love the cover! I have to know -- is he a highwayman?!

No, not a highwayman, although I don't doubt that he would resort to those measures if he thought it necessary. He's a self-described vigilante, who hunts down those that the law can't touch.

Lovely cover! I like silhouettes.
And it is great news that this wonderful book will be available again soon. Hopefully it will sell well so there will be a reissue of The Gnome's Engine.

That silhouette reminds of me Jack Sparrow.

Considering the popularity of the Pirates movie, it would probably be extremely advantageous if readers look at the picture and think the same thing. Those who see it and are looking for an old-fashioned swashbuckler won't be disappointed.

A reprint of TGE is already in its early stages (it's been scanned). I'm probably going to change the title, which I was never pleased with but my editor liked it. I especially think that title wouldn't appeal to readers in the second decade of the twenty-first century. (I am open to suggestions from those who have read the book.) Of course I would take pains to make certain that my long-suffering and patient readers don't think it's a brand new story and buy it by mistake. That's one reason why we're putting a series title on both books (something I wanted but the folks at Ace rejected) and we'll take other measures as well.

That's the plan right now. But I have to finish something new before I can publish it. Since I've now taken on a "day job" progress there continues to be slow. In the meantime reprinting some of my old work (especially GM where the process was started long ago) is something I can fit in between my writing and my other obligations ... and perhaps help to bring me enough financial relief to buy me more writing time.

Reprinting GM is the first step in a larger plan that will, I hope, include lots of new books.

Will this include part 3 of The Rune of Unmaking, Teresa?

Please, please, pretty please, pretty please with sugar on it...

It certainly does. Rune III (aka The Winds that Move the Worlds is the book I am struggling to find time to write.

But the fact that we have a new member of the household to support (my eldest daughter, out of work and traumatized after seeing her fiancé murdered before her eyes), plus the money I had to pay back to HC when they cancelled the book, plus the already grim financial situation for the entire family, means that I have to do the work that brings in money in a timely fashion.

Pray (or whatever you all do) that the reverse mortgage goes through and that GM does well, because then I can accept fewer editing projects and devote more time to "Winds."

I am glad that everyone seems to like the GM cover. A great deal rides on it.

Oh good!

A fortunate family. Leve fit, quod bene fertur, onus.

It's a lovely cover and I would definitely pick it up if I saw it on the shelves. I shall order it since I've not seen your books in a store here. We're about a zillion steps behind when it comes to stocking science fiction, fantasy and horror in our bookstores.

I hope things take several turns for the better and you have more time to write. Take care.

I love the Cover! It reminds me of "the Legend of Sleepy Hollow."

As for the family stuff. I will pray, that's what I do. I can't imagine the shock of watching someone you love being murdered. I will pray that she finds a new balance in her life.

I also can sympathize with you. My only daughter has re-moved in with her new husband and 2 children. As I live in parsonage (vicarage?) which the church pays the utilities for, this has caused some consternation and some unnamed people (that's the way it always is in a small church) have declared that unless she moves out soon they are going to leave the church. Needless to say this has my stomach in knots because of the possible ramifications, and also no little frustration because that is far from a Christian attitude. I would have thought that I could have brought in a homeless family to live with us out of Christian charity, let alone my daughter.
