Battle of the Titans: Bronn vs Sandor

I had to go for Sandor.
Even when someone used fire against him (Beric) he was able to overcome his phobia and win. He has stood toe-to-toe with Gregor, he has survived a mass battle with wildfire everywhere (Blackwater) and he is possibly older & more experienced in combat than Bronn - although I admit this last point is a bit tenous as I'm not 100% of their respective ages and a sellsword's life is combat but I stick by my statement.

Bronn, for all his 'reputation' has only fought 3 times which I can remember. Against Egan who was overconfident, not using his own sword and underestimated his foe, and he was old!
he also fought the wildlings and survived - which is no mean feat, but they are a disorganised and poorly equipped force, Sandor would have done the same.
I think he also took part in the battle against the Northern host at Green Fork (but someone back me up here) and also a duel against a stupid lordling.

He, unlike Sandor, has not been tested against the best and I fear he would not survive battle with someone as ruthless and cunning as him.

That said, if the Hound is drunk, he's screwed... :)
 
well actually in that particalur battle Bronn suddenly went missing. Tyrion was left alone with no sight of the bronn

Ever since he was shamed by Tyrion and fled King's Landing, he's been drinking.
That's why he was quite greviously injured by two of his brother's men when I'm sure, ordinarily, he would have cut them to ribbons.
 
Was he drinking for that reason?, Anyways he has reformed himself so he aint gonna be drunk
 
I think that Sandor is fearless, but full of hate, which is obvious to most, especially to someone as cunning as Bronn. Not to mention that Sandor is a drunk, and has been since before leaving King's Landing, he also has a fondness for highborn children that makes him kind of blind to the circumstances at times.
It would still be a tough-fought fight, however you crack it up. (Unlike a fight with me, where all they would see is my backside while I was running away. :D)
 
I honestly think that it is sheer luck on who would win. they are too many variables for each charecter's strengths and weeknesses. but then again Bronn himself has been getting a little over confident when they last heard word of him. That would hurt his preformence considerably and as you all said, Sandor's drinking would also give him a one way ticket to a loss. that's how i see it...

i just love the two charecters too much to condem either one.
 
I know this is an old post, but I just had to reply. These are two of my favorite characters, along with the "reborn' Jaime.
I would put my money on Bronn, just because of his stone cold cunning. I would like to see Sandor win, and he may even be able to pull it off with just savage luck (along with a crapload of skill), but Bronn is just the guy to exploit the Hound's weakness.
Man, I can't wait till the next book. Resorting to rereading and rereading this post is just sad. Love the forum, but we really need the new book to hit on new topics.
 
Glad Bronn has more votes to lose than the Hound!

The Hound was personal shield to Prince Joffrey, chosen for a reason, AND has defeated countless knights in combat AND won the Hand's tourney (although he didn't actually tilt against Loras) AND managed to defeat Beric Dondarrion in a trial by combat.

All we know about Bronn, on the other hand, is that he managed to defeat an aged vale knight by running circles around him...

The Hound would make minced meat out of that stuck up sellsword-turned-knight and wouldn't even think twice about it. Bronn also shied out of fighting Ser Gregor whereas Sandor went out looking for him on the trident with Arya.
 
The poll looks like it's asking who would lose. So Bronn having more votes means that more people think he would lose the fight. I agree.

Edit: This post made more sense before. I'm not crazy.

Sandor would win, mostly because he's a total nutcase.
 
gonna cop out and say it depends on their state of mind and how angry they are

Now sandor has found god I'd say Bron lol
 
Hmm. This is a good one! Nicely matched. Both play with a chip on their shoulder. However, Sandor has been a different person lately, so who knows what he'll bring. I couldn't vote on this one.

I believe he brings even more pain to his opponent in his current state. A wickedly skilled warrior with a clear and focused mind? The Hound is going to be nearly unstoppable when he finishes his current training. He'll be like a high-level D&D monk with a big sword. And everyone knows you don't mess with monks in melee combat. Un-Gregor better watch out!
 
You don't tug on Superman's cape. You don't spit into the wind. You don't pull the mask off the old lone ranger and you don't mess around with the Hound.

Assuming an even battlefield, Sandor would take Bronn to pieces. Bronn's a badass, don't get me wrong, but Sandor's a rabid pitbull to Bronn's sly fox.

Of course, GRRM's rarely one to provide the benefit of an even battlefield...
